There isn't anything more infuriating than trying to wash your hair and have your shower drain clogged with hair strands. It's almost as bad as those commercials where people can't get the shampoo bottle open. Luckily, you can use a few methods to clean out accumulated hair from your shower drain regularly.

Use a Hair Snake

In a bathroom where you've got multiple people using the shower, there are bound to be stray hairs that fall into the drain.

An easy way to get this hair out of the drain is to buy a hair snake. It will already come with some hair attached to it so that you can simply drop it into the drain and start pulling it up. This method is quick and efficient and can be used to clean out hair every couple of days to prevent it from building up.

Use Baking Soda

This method is the best one to use regularly because it will help to soften up the hair that has fallen down the drain so that you can easily remove it. This method only takes a few minutes and is inexpensive.

All you need to do is pour a cup of baking soda and vinegar mixture down the drain and then follow that up with a cup of warm water. Let the water drain out of the drain and then use a bottle brush to remove hair from the drain.

This method can be used weekly and will help keep your drain from getting clogged.

Remove It By Hand or Tweezer

If you are trying to remove just a few hairs from your hair drain, you can simply use your hands or tweezers to pull the hair out of the drain. This will only take a few minutes and will quickly clear out hair clogging the drain.

After you've used this method, make sure to follow it up by cleaning out your drain with a regular cleaning solution to prevent the hair from building up in your drain again.

Use a Plumbing Snake

If you have tried all of the above methods and still can't seem to get your hair drain cleared out, you can use a plumbing snake to remove hair from your drain.

This method does take a bit of time to get done, but if you are looking for a solution that will work repeatedly without needing to re-order a hair snake, this is your best bet.

Clear Your Drains

There are multiple ways that you can deal with hair clogging your drain. Hair doesn't build up quickly, but it can quickly get out of hand if you don't take the time to deal with it regularly. The best way to prevent this from happening is to use a hair snake on a regular basis to get the hair from your hair drain.
